‘WIDESPREAD IRREGULARITIES.’ Republican 1st Congressional District candidate Karoline Leavitt has been clear that she believes her former boss, President Donald Trump, won the 2020 presidential election but was denied the presidency by “irregularities and chaos across the country” due to reforms made as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. She made those statements in an interview with WMUR a month ago, four days after announcing her candidacy, and doubled down in subsequent media interviews. This week, Leavitt announced an “Election Integrity Coalition” cmposed of supporters. “I will never forget watching the 2020 election results unfold when I was working in President Trump’s White House,” Leavitt said in a statement. “The unprecedented irregularities, stemming from the mass amount of mail-in and absentee ballots that poured in around the country, are the reason Joe Biden currently occupies the White House and is destroying our country. That is why I am running for Congress.” She cited the discrepancies in the state representatives’ race in Windham between the original machine count and the hand recount – a discrepancy auditors blamed on a faulty absentee ballot folding machine. “The audit that took place in Windham proved our election system in New Hampshire is far from perfect,” Leavitt said. “We can and must do better for the people of our great state, and my campaign’s Election Integrity Coalition will advocate for solutions to do so.” In a separate fundraising email, Leavitt asked for $10 contributions “to support our Election Integrity Coalition.” State Rep. Al Baldasaro of Londonderry, an early Leavitt supporter, said she IS “the only candidate for Congress in New Hampshire who has the guts to stand up for election integrity.”
